DescriptionFor nearly four decades, Delerium’s Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber (both FLA) have continually explored the possibilities of electronic music, initially making their name in the scene leading electro-industrial group Front Line Assembly. What began as an outlet for dark, cinematic ambient soundscapes evolved through industrial electronics, ambient trance and ethereal electronic pop. By the mid-1990s, the project had evolved as they invited their favourite female singers to contribute to several largely downtempo songs included on each new album. This eventually led to worldwide chart success in 2000 with the dance pop anthem ‘Silence (featuring Sarah McLachlan)’.
Following the atmospheric experimentation of “Mythologie” (2016) and the hypnotic rhythms and enveloping ambience of “Signs” (2023), Delerium now enter a new chapter with “Exaudire”. The title Exaudire—evoking the ideas of listening, hearing and being heard—provides an apt framework for music that exists somewhere between the tangible and the dreamlike. Electronic textures, expansive atmospheres and emotive melodies, and stunning vocals converge to create an immersive experience that is unmistakably Delerium while continuing to move the project forward. ‘Exaudire’ will be their 16th album. Delerium songs have appeared in films such as Brokedown Palace and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, while ‘Silence’ could recently be heard in the hit BBC drama Industry.
