Medusa is the second studio album by the Dutch Darkwave band Clan of Xymox. It was released by 4AD in November 1986. Nowadyas a legendary album with the big hits Louise and Michelle. Founding member Pieter Nooten re-recorded the songs “After the Call” and “Theme I” after a brief separation from the band on Sleeps with the Fishes, his 1987 album with Michael Brook. Medusa is considered by some critics to be the high point of the group’s career. Sounds described Medusa as a “towering achievement […] each track sounds like the finale of a brooding epic overture”.
