For more than two decades, Golden Apes have been navigating the sonic borderlands between post-punk, dark wave and gothic rock, continually shifting and expanding the coordinates of their own sound in search of a musical language too multifaceted for rigid genre boundaries, yet unmistakable from the very first note.
Their long-awaited twelfth studio album was recorded and produced at Thommy Hein Studios in Berlin, and its ten songs represent both a natural continuation and a determined evolution of the band’s creative journey – once again demonstrating why Golden Apes remain one of the most distinctive and enduring voices in the international dark alternative and post-punk scene!
Delicate melodies meet driving basslines, dense walls of guitar merge with ethereal soundscapes, and pulsating drums collide with bittersweet melancholy – creating an atmospheric and stylistic depth in which influences such as Joy Division, The Cure and Cocteau Twins blend naturally and respectfully with more contemporary references such as The Horrors, White Lies and Interpol.
Over the years, Golden Apes have captivated audiences at renowned festivals including Wave-Gotik-Treffen or Castle Party, while extensive touring throughout the US, Canada, Russia and Europe has earned them a devoted international following. Along the way, they have shared stages not only with timeless icons of the scene such as And Also The Trees, The Chameleons, Pink Turns Blue and Clan of Xymox, but also with a younger generation of international acts including She Past Away, TRAITRS, Then Comes Silence and A Projection.
