Description

Swedish electronic pop Rupesh Cartel is a band that has been flying under the radar for a lot of people over the past decades. However their very loyal fanbase has always praised them as one of the best electronic pop acts out there. The band debuted already in 2005 on american label A Different Drum and has then released several albums and singles. The last album “Anchor Baby” was released.
2009 on Swedish label MEGAHYPE. After this the duo has besides releasing a few EPs and singles been working on this, the new album given the name “Residual Light”. Which is the first one to be released on Progress Productions.
Rupesh Cartel has always managed to create a very high quality electronic pop style. Never falling in “retro”-traps or following the latest trends. You will find elements of classic synthpop as well as modern day electronic pop, they have always worked on finding their own sounds. All inbeded in a fantastic production and strong vocals. “Residual Light” is no exception from this rule. The extremlly wellcrafted tracks all is nothing else than perfect and the band proves again that working on an album with “NO FILLERS” pays off.
