“Secret Language” is the third album from Copenhagen Darkwave / Industrial artist St. Digue, the alter ego of singer, songwriter and producer Kasper Deichmann. Where Deichmann is the person he was born as, St. Digue is the person he creates himself to be – a space for autonomy, vulnerability, trauma and everything that is difficult to say out loud.
Across nine immersive and maximalist tracks, “Secret Language” explores love in all its beautiful, ugly and confusing forms: desire, surrender, obsession, toxic patterns, intimacy, anger, grief and devotion. Musically, St. Digue pushes his darkwave roots into colder and heavier territory, mixing dreamy synths and melancholy with industrial noise, metal, punk and hardcore.
Written, recorded and produced by St. Digue, the album is the result of two years spent expanding and refining the St. Digue universe. “Secret Language” is an album about relationships – with others, with yourself, and with the parts of you that don’t always fit neatly into the world. Dark, sensual, vulnerable and occasionally brutal.
