Description
The new album “Delusion” from Tempers – the musical pseudonym of New York-based artist Jasmine Golestaneh – embarks on a non-linear journey of healing and becoming. With ten tracks, she navigates stormy emotional tides and gropes her way through a fever dream of storm clouds and sunbeams towards soulful clarity, creating a soundtrack for ‘those who love too much, fall too deep and dream too vividly’.
“Delusion” moves fluidly between different genres, from art-pop to techno, grunge to metal, with epic balladic moments scattered throughout. The album was co-produced by Golestaneh and Jorge Elbrecht (Sky Ferreira, Crushed, Wild Nothing) and features collaborations with Camille Henrot, Estelle Hoy and Sandra Mujinga. Tempers’ highly anticipated album follows 2015’s debut album “Services”, which included the underground dance hit “Strange Harvest”. In 2019, Tempers released the album ‘Private Life’, which showcased a more introspective sound, followed by ‘New Meaning’ in 2022, which was accompanied by a book of Golestaneh’s original collages inspired by the album.
Tempers’ penchant for the art world has led to unique collaborations, including performances at museums, galleries and O-Spaces, an EP (2017’s Fundamental Fantasy) resulting from an artist residency at The Vinyl Factory, and the release of Junkspace feat. Rem Koolhaas in 2018.
