Legendary English project The Cassandra Complex around Rodney Orpheus return with a special album, their first since 2022’s comeback release ‘The Plague’!
‘Generating…’ is a powerful new studio recording that reconnects the band’s influential past with its present-day energy. Rather than simply remastering or remixing archival recordings, The Cassandra Complex went back into the studio and completely re-recorded the material. Songs including “Moscow Idaho,” “The War Against Sleep,” “Nightfall,” “One Millionth Happy Customer,” “Second Shot,” and “March” have been rebuilt from the ground up, capturing the intensity of the original compositions with the weight, clarity, and force of the band’s current sound.
Formed around the creative core of Rodney Orpheus, Paul Dillon, and Andy Booth, The Cassandra Complex helped define the collision between post-punk, electronic music, industrial rock, and European club culture. Their combination of sequenced electronics, aggressive guitar, political tension, and commanding live performances created a body of work that remains influential four decades later.
‘Generation…’ is both a celebration of that history and a living, contemporary Cassandra Complex album. These are not museum pieces or lightly updated catalog tracks. They are newly performed recordings designed to stand on their own while preserving the urgency and identity that made the original songs enduring underground classics.
The physical editions feature cover design by acclaimed British author and designer Antony Johnston. Johnston is a New York Times bestselling writer whose work includes “The Coldest City”, adapted into the feature film “Atomic Blond” as well as “Wasteland, Dead Space” novels, graphic fiction, and major video-game projects. A longtime friend of the band, he also created the cover artwork for The Cassandra Complex album.
