Digitally remastered by Sebastian Komor and featuring a brandnew, exclusive bonus track!
Originally hailed as a fresh take on the era’s EBM/Synthpop trends, the album took dance floors by storm all over the world and is considered as one of the most classic albums in Electro EVER. The album also notably features 2 tracks with Computer Girl/Computergirl on vocals.
Norwegian Icon of Coil first appeared on the scene with their debut single ‘Shallow Nation’ and the EP ‘One Nation under Beat’ (both early 2000) on Tatra, the same label that established Apoptygma Berzerk. The band was originally a solo project, founded in 1997 by Ole Anders Olson (aka Andy LaPlegua, now Combichrist), and later joined by former Sector 9 bandmate Sebastian Komor (later known with Moonitor and Zombie Girl) to perform live. With the release of ‘Shallow Nation’, Komor joined full-time. In 2000, Christian Lund joined the live lineup. Later that year the band’s first full-length album ‘Serenity is the Devil’ was released to immediately worldwide success – in Germany it climbed to number one on the Deutsche Alternative Charts. Shortly after, Lund became a full-time band member.
The highly successful electro project released another album on Tatra (‘The Soul is in the Software’ – 2002) and two on Out of Line (‘Uploaded and Remixed’ & ‘Machines are Us’ – both 2004) – all of them were were highly successful, and were licensed to the US (Metropolis) and Russia.
The three band members were or still are active in the music scene after Icon of Coil disbanded in 2005, with projects such as Combichrist, Zombie Girl, NorthBorne, Panzer AG, Komor Kommando, Xenomorph, Muscle and Hate and others..
