Today, KANGA shares the exciting news that her upcoming album, Under Glass, is set to drop on October 6th via Artoffact Records. Sweeting the announcement, is an invigorating new single, Rehab – a dynamic, genre-bending track which showcases KANGA’s ever-growing ability to flawlessly blend sensational storytelling with electro-pop and harrowing darkwave to create highly-relatable, introspective tracks.
Prominently displayed once again in Rehab is KANGA’s lyrical prowess, with a resonating chorus, “Help me, I’ve got no control, but it was really nice to meet you. I’ve been down this road before, you can feel it, I’m in need of a friend. I know that I should feel bad, but I don’t want to go to rehab.”
KANGA’s work has focused on pushing the boundaries of dark dance beats and pop sensibilities, propelled even further by her notoriously intimate and energetic live performances. Coming off the heels of a year spent touring Europe and the US, KANGA has been in the studio recording a new album that marks a change in direction. In collaboration with producers Josh Franks and Dave Adrounie, her forceful style has evolved into an intimate, poetic love letter to her listeners.
For a first taste of her evolved sound, KANGA shared Magnolia last fall, which combines complex melodies, atmospheric overtones, and emotional allegories all wrapped up by KANGA’s signature catchy hooks. Its elevation marks a pivotal moment in KANGA’s discography, opening itself up to a broader audience of listeners who will soon be entranced by a full album’s worth of sultry storytelling.
An LA-based producer, musician, and celebrated songwriter, KANGA’s music has been included in the hit game Cyberpunk 2077, the horror film Terrifier II, and has seen press attention in prestigious publications like Revolver, Post Punk Online, and New Noise Magazine. She has remixed acts including 3TEETH and clipping. KANGA’s unique brand of underground dance pop has been one of the hottest-tipped tickets since her 2016 debut record. Embraced by the darkwave, emo, and heavy metal communities alike, KANGA’s singles have been streamed millions of times and she has shared stages with the likes of Gary Numan, The Black Queen, Uniform, and Kælan Mikla, and more. KANGA was recently brought in to provide vocals on the new Delerium album, Signs – check out the video for ‘In The Deep’ from the album
