This special Vinyl re-release of one of the earliest Kirlian Camera classics – , was actually released already some months ago, but slipped through our attention. A release, that deserves some in depth digging into musical history…
Limited edition on ORANGE Coloured Vinyl, released on the occasion of the 40th (!!! anniversary of its original release (‘Memory Records‘ 1983) – ‘Communicate’ was the FIRST FIRST EVER single by KIRLIAN CAMERA. At that time, Kirlian Camera had already 2 albums, and ‘Communicate’ was the opening track of their second album ‘It doesn’t matter, now’. Angelo Bergamini’s project was a mixture of Darkwave and Italo Disco in those days.
This new edition features both original ‘extended’ versions of the track, plus two brand new remixes by two main players of the (incredibly painful…) so called ‘Italo-Disco’-scene: FLEMMING DALUM – Artist, DJ, musician and producer based in Denmark and maybe THE most important protagonist in Italo-Disco for past (approx.) 50 decades… VANZETTI & SACCO DJ – a Dutch Duo, taking their name from a legendary judicial scandal
in the US. Sacco & Vanzetti were two Italian immigrant anarchists who were controversially sentenced to death for murder in 1921 in Massachusetts/US (and rehabilitated in 1977).
Memory Records was born in 1983, and the original version of ‘Communicate’ was a two-.Track 12” (Memix001), containing two extended versions – here included on Side A. The 12” was followed shortly after by a 12” (Memix002) of another project, that involved Angelo Bergamini: HIPNOSIS with the now legendary ‘Pulsar’ 12” (a track originally by Vangelis), which turned out to be a world-wide megahit, and went GOLD in a number of countries!
This 4-track MLP is a MUST have for fans of Kirlian Camera, early Electro/Darkwave, Italo Disco and everyone interested in the 80s sound!
