A conceptional collaboration between Orphx & Kareem. A homage to early formative experiences with dance music and rhythmic motives. Deconstructing clouded fragments and memories and bringing them back to the present: amplified, upgraded, and radically distorted. Moving forward by going back to the essence: rhythm, sound, transcendence, reawakening the possibility of a state that can raise spirits, exorcise demons, transform reality.

Where many others are going fast and kinky, they go intensely sluggish with concentrated, tunnelling dynamics in all five parts, with a proper standout in the offbeat industrial deep house swagger of ‘Future Present’, while the other four hew to a pace and setting akin to Kareem’s dedications to DJ Pierre’s Wild Pitch productions, namely on the cavernous warehouse shunt of ‘Wildpitch II’, and with glowering force on ‘Is It A Circus?’ beside the acidic drill of ’Summoning an Iwa’ and the K-hole lurcher ‘The Light That Returns’. – Boomkat
